There are two types of cheer and pom squads at SHOCK!, Recreational squads (Firecrackers, Explosion) and All Star competitive squads. The table below shows the principal differences between the squads. The Recreational Cheer program is coed and is designed to provide cheer programs with a lower commitment in terms of time and money. Recreational Cheer is also a great place to begin in competitive cheerleading. Our Recreational teams are are patterned after the competitive teams and provide an excellent introduction to the competitive cheer format. Recreational Pom is a fun team dance utilizing many Hip-Hop and Jazz dance techniques. On the Recreational teams, attending a competition or practice is optional.
